Disclaimer: The Shear Lag is specifically designed to attach sheet metal to plywood or osb wall sheathing as a design element. Using the Shear Lag in solid wood of any kind without drilling the proper pilot hole will possibly result in premature shearing of the hex head from the dome head.

You are buying 24 shear lags at a price of $22.80

For use in plywood or osb, drill a 1/4" pilot hole and drive the lag in using a 1/2" socket. If you would like to try the shear lag in solid wood, I would suggest using an 17/64" or 9/32" drill bit for your pilot hole.
